Our Approach
The word Kairos comes from Ancient Greek and refers to the right moment — a moment when meaningful change becomes possible.
At Kairos Chiropractic clinic this philosophy reflects a commitment to providing thoughtful, evidence-informed care that supports the body’s capacity to heal, adapt, and regain function.
Care begins with identifying the mechanical, movement-related, and nervous system factors that may be contributing to pain or dysfunction. Treatment is individualized and may include spinal and joint adjustments, soft tissue therapy, and movement-based rehabilitation strategies.

By considering the many influences on recovery — including movement patterns, nervous system regulation, lifestyle, and the mind–body connection — care is tailored to each patient’s unique needs.

The goal is simple
To help people move well, recover fully, and return to the activities that matter most.
Conditions We Treat
Chiropractic care is for conditions affecting the spine, joints, muscles, and nervous system. These can be from an acute onset or chronic conditions where patients experience persistent pain (sometimes referred to as neuroplastic pain or central sensitization).
Some common conditions include low back pain, neck pain, sciatica and nerve irritation, disc herniations, tension and cervicogenic headaches, postural strain and desk-related pain, sports and activity-related injuries, shoulder, hip and joint pain including jaw, elbow, wrist, ribs, knees and ankles.

Patients often visit when searching for a chiropractor in Oakland County for back pain, neck pain, or sciatica. We welcome patients from Troy, Birmingham, Royal Oak, Rochester Hills, Bloomfield Hills, and surrounding Metro Detroit communities.
Meet Dr. Ramsden

Dr. Alison Ramsden is an internationally trained chiropractor with a focus on evidence-informed care, rehabilitation, and whole-person health. Originally from Australia, she earned both a Bachelor of Chiropractic Science and a Master of Chiropractic from Macquarie University in Sydney. After relocating to the United States, she further expanded her training by completing a Master’s degree in Nutrition and Functional Medicine through the University of Western States in Portland, Oregon.
Dr. Ramsden has pursued extensive postgraduate education in functional rehabilitation and contemporary pain science. This includes training in the FNOR approach to rehab (combining Functional Neurology with orthopedic rehabilitation), Graston Technique®, DNS (The Prague School of Rehabilitation), Webster Technique, and Sacro-Occipital Technique (SOT). She has also undertaken advanced education in pain mechanism classification and is currently completing the Beyond Pain Education program, which explores evidence-based approaches to understanding the brain-body connection in persistent pain. She is licensed to practice in Michigan, the United Kingdom, and Australia, bringing a global perspective to patient care.
Dr. Ramsden takes a biopsychosocial approach to care, considering not only physical structure, but also the role of the nervous system, stress, and lifestyle in healing. She does this through combining manual chiropractic care, soft tissue therapy, functional rehabilitation, and nutritional guidance informed by advanced training in functional medicine. She also emphasizes the important role of the nervous system and mind-body connection in recovery.
At Kairos Chiropractic Clinic, Dr. Ramsden is committed to providing thoughtful, personalized care grounded in current scientific evidence — helping patients move better, feel better, and return to the activities that matter most.
